Queens Road area
Controlled parking zone consultation
Funding from a new development (section 106 agreement) has been received so that the council can evaluate and consult upon the possibility of a new controlled parking zone (CPZ) in streets south of Queens Road. The consultation area will connect through to the existing Peckham (B) CPZ.
The consultation area focuses upon streets south of Queens Road Peckham station, which are were last consulted in 2002/03 as part of a much wider study prior to the introduction of the central London congestion charging zone. At that time, there was no clear support for the introduction of a new CPZ.
Outcome and what happens next
The consultation has now closed.
A consultation pack was delivered to all those within the area on 3 November.
The consultation closed on Friday 25 November 2011 and analysis of these results and the parking occupancy and duration surveys is now being carried out.
The results from the consultation will be reported to Nunhead and Peckham Rye Community Council in March 2012.
A final decision will then be taken by the Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Recycling. Read the council's decision register which will include this report.
Any decision to make changes on-street will be subject to seperate, statutory consultation with key stakeholders as part of the traffic orders procedures.
