Cycle routes
Cycle routes
Cycle Superhighways were designed to encourage more people to use cycles on their journey. These routes are painted blue. Merton to City (A24-A3), route CS7 was opened on 19 July 2010.
The London Cycle Network
The
London Cycle Network programme started in 1995. Many London boroughs implemented sections of the route throughout London. The LCN+ was established in 2000 after the formation of
Transport for London to extend and improve upon the network.
There are five LCN+ routes in Southwark:
- Route 0 Southwark Bridge to Imperial War Museum
- Route 2 Lambeth (Imperial War Museum) to Deptford
- Route 22 London Bridge to Brockley
- Route 23 Southwark Bridge to Crystal Palace
- Route 25 Herne Hill to Nunhead

The trail takes in the sights of Canada Water, Albion Channel, Surrey Water, Staves Hill, Russian Dock Woodland, Greenland Dock and Surrey Quays shopping centre. All but a few hundred yards are traffic free.
Along the way, there are plenty of places to find refreshment or bring your own picnic. You can
