Youth training

The Southwark Youth Training Initiative (SYTI) is a borough-wide training programme, primarily for young people aged 16-24, providing a variety of short accredited training courses in:

  • Nationally recognized youth work training
  • Sports and leisure - includes sports leadership awards (levels 1 and 2), national pool lifeguard qualification and becoming a dance instructor
  • Preparation for employment/ Life skills, residential courses 
  • First aid and food hygiene for young people
  • Peer mentoring courses

All programmes are for unwaged young people aged 16 plus. Some courses are available for young people aged 14 and over. 

If you wish to develop specially tailored training from awarding bodies ASDAN or AQA to suit your group's need, or for further details on any of the courses mentioned, including start dates please contact us.
