Seatwise

Did you know?

  • 75 to 80 percent of child restraints in use today are not correctly fitted in the vehicle
  • 90 percent of child fatalities could be avoided if children were correctly harnessed
  • A total of 55 children were killed and 2,457 seriously injured on UK roads in 2010

What is seatwise?

Seatwise is a child car seat safety scheme run by Southwark Council trading standards.

The purpose of the scheme is to enable the public to receive free fitting, checking and advice from any member of the scheme, or from our own in house experts.

Employees from participating local businesses plus two of our own officers have received specialist training in the correct fitting of child car seats, organised and paid for by us.

For more information, download the Seatwise guide to child safety in the car.

How do I arrange a seat fitting?

For further information on the scheme or to book a fitting, please contact Southwark Council trading standards.
