Approved list for supplies, services and works
Approved list for supplies, services and works
Southwark Council has different types of approved or select lists for supplies, services and works. Contracts are awarded through the approved or select list system, or by public advertisement.
Approved lists are lists of contractors, suppliers and services vetted to the council's standards and technical capability, including financial, equality and health and safety assessments.
Southwark Council has an approved list of works (construction) contractors and construction related consultants. Contracts are awarded through the approved list system, or by public advertisement.
The approved list is used when tendering construction related contracts, other than those contracts that fall within the European procurement regulations.
The advantage of being an approved list company gives reassurances to the council that a minimum standard has been met, and saves firms from having to re-apply for contracts to meet that standard. Apart from being on the approved list, the information is also used by Exor to pass onto other councils.

When your company has been selected to tender for a contract, from an approved or select list, you will be contacted and invited to tender.
How to apply to the approved list of contractors and consultants
If your company would like to apply for a place on the council's approved list, you are required to go through an application process to verify your suitability and competence. The process is tailored to the size of companies making an application, and will be assessed in accordance with the size of the firm.
To apply for inclusion contact Exor Management Services Ltd, giving brief details of your company and requesting a business questionnaire.
The questionnaire will tell you what information is required and where it should be returned.
What happens next?
Where necessary, you will be contacted for additional information. When all sections of your business questionnaire have been evaluated and approved, you will be added to the Exor database, and you will receive a letter from Exor to confirm this.
Once your company is on the approved list, your details will be available online to staff in the council who let contracts for construction and related works contracts.
