Procurement is the process of buying goods, services and works in
order to provide for the needs of the council, the community and its
citizens both now and in the future.
Southwark Council spends millions of pounds each year on the
procurement of works, supplies and services, in order to fulfil its
responsibility to the community as well as providing companies with a
wide range of commercial opportunities.
What we cannot provide directly we buy from outside. There are rules
that we must follow to do this, on a European, national and local level.
Southwark Council has a corporate procurement unit that supports
officers purchase correctly and achieve the best value they can with
the money that it has available.
On this area of the site, you will be able to find information about
how we buy, what we buy and how to do business with the council,
including information about future procurements.
