Dead animals

Dead animals

The council provides a free service for the removal of dead animals from all public areas, eg roads, pavements, parks etc. We aim to respond to requests within one hour of them being reported to us.

Removal of dead animals from private property

If you need to have a dead animal removed from exterior private trade premises, and your own private garden, we can arrange this. Please note there is a charge of £47.00 (inc VAT) for this service. Please have the fee ready to give to our staff when they collect the dead animal from your property. Payment can be made by cash or by cheque made payable to London Borough of Southwark. A receipt will be issued to you as soon as payment is made.

If your pet is missing

If your pet is lost please contact the animal warden. The animal warden will be able to check if your pet has been picked up by us. Click here for further information about lost dogs and the animal warden service.
