Newington Causeway and Borough High Street

Newington Causeway and Borough High Street

Early notice of major road works

Thames Water, as part of their continuing Victorian Mains Replacement Programme, will be replacing their mains in Newington Causeway and Borough High Street.

As Southern Gas Networks also had a main to replace in the same streets they will work jointly to replace both mains simultaneously, so as to reduce disruption.

To accommodate these works Transport for London will be making Borough High Street, between Marshalsea Road and Southwark Street, one-way north bound for about 35 weeks. South bound traffic will be diverted via Southwark Street, Southwark Bridge Road and Marshalsea Road.

These works are scheduled to begin on the July 7 and be completed by October 2010. The one-way will start on November 30.

The works will be carried out by Morrison Utility Services, contractors employed by both Thames Water and Southern Gas Networks.
