Tideway Sailability
The Tideway Sailability club was set up in 1982 by a group of disabled people who were keen on sailing. It is now a friendly community of sailors of all ages, both with and without disabilities. We sail every Thursday and Sunday throughout the year on Greenland dock. The club is a great way to enjoy sailing and you can learn as a beginner or help others with the skills you have learned.
If you are fully employed it will cost you £52 to join and £26 if you are not. For families and groups the cost is £64 and all memberships last for a year. Carers sail for free! Please contact us using the details below for more information.
The club is open to people with and without disabilities. All of their boats are accessible to people with disabilities using our Oxford Dipper Poolside Hoist. We have the following boats available:
- Three safety boats, 2 of which are wheelchair accessible
- Six Access 303s, two person dinghies especially designed for mobility impaired people
- One Access Sport, a single handed dinghy. One of these is sailed in Australia by a quadriplegic ventilated man.
- Two Wayfarers
- One Topper
- One Roamer, a comfortable boat for several people
- One Hawk 20, a very stable large day boat that's suitable for trips on the Thames
