All council and housing association tenants have the right to swap their homes with another tenant anywhere in the United Kingdom and Ireland .
House Exchange
House Exchange is a web based scheme to help Southwark Council and housing association tenants find people who want to swap homes with them.
Registration is free for Southwark Council tenants. After registering, the council will send you a registration number.
You must find your own exchange partner. Both partners must agree to the exchange and so must both landlords. You should, therefore, be realistic in your demands. Landlords may not permit tenants to move into unsuitable properties.

Some sites are free and others may charge a small fee to join. However, the more places you advertise, the more chances you will have.
You can also try the old-fashioned approach. If you know where you want to go, try putting cards in shop windows or flyers through people's doors.
