Three sections - 'Council Tax' , 'Benefits and support' and 'Bins and recycling'- are now available on our beta site. Please give them a try and tell us what you think. We'll be adding more shortly.
Help if you are homeless
Finding yourself with nowhere to live is both frightening and stressful. We want to help you by preventing homelessness from ocurring wherever possible so that you can avoid the worry of this difficult situation.
You should make an appointment with our housing options advisors if you are worried that you may lose your current home within the next 28 days. Our services may be able to help you to stay in your current home or to find you a new one.
While we try to help everybody who approaches us as homeless, we can't provide everyone with temporary or emergency accommodation. If you have nowhere else to go on the night you are made homeless, the council may provide emergency accommodation if it has reason to believe that:
- You are homeless
- You have the required immigration status
- You have a child under 18 or you are vulnerable in some way
For more information about your rights and our responsibilities or for independent advice see the Shelter website.
