Homesearch
Social housing in Southwark is allocated through Homesearch. This means that every week we advertise all the properties available (whether they are from the council, housing associations or even other boroughs) on the website and people bid for them.
This gives you the opportunity to choose where you want to live.
Once your name is on the housing register we will send you a letter telling you:
- your homesearch registration number
- your band
- your registration date
You can read more about the housing register and priority bands in What are housing bands? Or you can complete our online housing options self assessment, which will help you identify which housing options are most suitable for you.
Remember, demand for social housing is much higher than the number of properties that become available and as a result only those with a high priority are likely to have a successful bid.
