Southwark's youth awards

Southwark's youth awards

There are lots of awards for young people that aim to recognise the positive contribution they make to our communities.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The following link opens in a new windowThe Duke of Edinburgh's Award is the largest personal development programme world wide. It is voluntary, non competitive and open to all between 14 and 25.

It is at three levels (bronze, silver and gold) and progressive in terms of challenge and commitment.

It is widely recognized by employers and universities etc. as the number one informal accreditation award. Volunteering, skills, physical and the expedition provide something for all.

For general information about the award visit the Duke of Edinburgh's award.

There is always a need for adult volunteers to support the programme.

Southwark support the programme in schools and Centres throughout the borough and offer an 'Open' award centre for those not enrolled elsewhere. The Open Centre meets every Monday 6 -8pm.
