Change of circumstances

Moving home

If you have moved or will be moving into or out of a property in Southwark you can use our online moving home form to report this change now.

Once we have all of the information we need we will amend our records and send you a revised bill.

If you are receiving housing or council tax benefit you will also need to complete an online benefits change in circumstances form so your claim can be updated.

Other changes

It is essential that you tell us immediately about any changes or new situations affecting your council tax bill, as the amount you have to pay is worked out on a daily basis.

You are responsible for providing us with the correct information for anyone within your household.

You must tell us if:

  • You are no longer responsible for the property
  • Anyone who is jointly liable to pay the council tax bill moves out
  • Your correspondence address alters
  • A student in your household ends their course, or if any other disregarded resident in your household has a change of circumstance
  • You no longer qualify for a discount or exemption
