Paying council tax

Direct debit is the simplest and most convenient way to pay. It is also the only method that allows you a choice of payment dates (1, 8, 15, 20 or 25 of the month).

You can pay your council tax online with most major credit or debit cards using our secure site.

Standing order

To set up a standing order you'll need the following information

• Our bank account number - 96828803
• Our banking sort code - 62-24-00
• Your council tax account number
• The payment date for all standing orders must be the first day of the calendar month.

Automated payment service

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To make payments using your credit or debit card please call 0845 600 0611 and choose the option for council tax. Please ensure you have your council tax account number available. You can find your council tax account number on the front of the bill.

Cheque

Cheques must be made payable to Southwark Council and crossed 'account payee'. Cheque payments are due on or before the first of the month and should be sent to:
