Annual gas safety check

As a Southwark tenant, there are certain things you can do to help us to provide this service:

• You must let our engineers into your home so they can carry out a gas safety check every year.
• You must let our gas engineer into your home to carry out repairs.

 Warrant for entry

Unless you arrange an appointment and make sure you are there when the gas service engineer visits your home, we will have no choice but to apply to the court for a warrant for entry. 

If we have to force entry to your property, it may mean we have to change the locks, we will then complete the gas safety check.

Notification of having forced entry at your property will be left in a prominent position and on leaving Southwark officers' will make sure your home is secure. You will have to collect new keys to your home in order to gain access.
