Joint security initiative

The council's Joint Security Initiative (JSI) annual social regeneration and engagement programme works closely with residents and partners to improve social issues on estates. Based on a bidding process and set criteria the tenants' panel lead on the decision making process and prioritise area applications to impact on:

• Improving confidence & well being (eg raising self improvement & esteem)
• Improving access to opportunity (eg skills training, coaching & mentoring)
• Tackling inequality (eg homophobia, racism & difference awareness)
• Improve cohesion (eg celebrating culture & community development)
• Tackling anti social behaviour (eg early intervention & supporting  resilience)

JSI timetable, publicity and information workshops are circulated to area forums, tenant associations and tenant management organisations.
