You also have the right to exchange your home with other local authority secure tenants or housing association tenants anywhere in the United Kingdom.
This is called 'mutual exchange', and both landlords must give their permission. If you have found someone you want to exchange with, you should both contact your area housing office to fill in the necessary forms and get any advice you may need.
