Children's services

Southwark has a Scheme for Financing Schools, which sets out the financial relationship between Southwark and its maintained schools. This covers items such as

• banking
• accounting
• audit arrangements

The scheme is prepared by Southwark after consultation with schools and governing bodies and approved by the Secretary of State.

It takes into account the council's internal financial regulations and is binding on the council, governing bodies and officers who have powers and responsibilities delegated to them.
