Young carers project

Young carers project

These projects help children and young people who have a caring responsibility at home, due to the health needs of someone they live with.

If you are caring for someone with an illness or a disability, whether you live with them or not, you are a carer.

These projects provide services to ensure that young carers have access to the same opportunities and experiences that other children take for granted.

How can the Young Carers Projects help?

A young person between the ages of eight and 18 years can take part, without charge, in the social activities that run throughout the year

  • weekends away and occasional longer holidays
  • advocacy and information
  • befriending
  • outreach.

Opening times and access

  • Staff can be contacted at the office from 9am to 5pm on weekdays
  • Social activities run throughout the year but are usually concentrated in the school holiday periods
