Recycling champions

Recycling champions

Recycling champions are local residents and community leaders who want to make a difference by helping to spread the word about recycling.

If you would like to become a recycling champion we would ask that you:

  • Talk to friends, family and members of your community about recycling
  • Display leaflets about recycling in appropriate public places, for example your community hall or child's school
  • Report any issues or problems with recycling services in your area

If you would like to we would also welcome you to volunteer to help at events we run to promote recycling.

To support you in this, we can offer:

  • Free workshops/presentations/community compost bins to community groups
  • Help and support with applications to The Southwark EnviroGrant Scheme, which is run by our waste and recycling partners, Veolia Environmental Services.
  • Support and advice from a trained recycling officer
  • Access to leaflets and posters
  • Specially designed e-bulletins with information about improvements to services
