Recycling away from home

Recycling away from home

To help you to recycle more of your waste whilst you are out and about in the borough, we have installed around 100 on street recycling bins.

These bins can accept all the same materials as can be included in your household collections can be recycled using these bins. However they are particularly designed for newspapers, cans and drink bottles, which you may be carrying around as you move about the borough.

The bins are located in busy areas such as high streets, train stations and tourist attractions.

Recycling at school

Schools in Southwark can recycle all the same materials as householders in the borough.

We can provide the following collection and education services to support recycling in schools:

Primary schools:

  • External recycling bins
  • Internal recycling boxes for classrooms
  • Posters, leaflets and compost bins
  • Assembly and waste audit
  • Workshop activities and resources

Secondary schools:

  • External recycling bins
  • Internal recycling boxes for classrooms
  • Posters, leaflets and compost bins
  • Biodiversity activities
  • Bespoke workshops
