Local recycling centres
Local recycling centres
The materials are collected from the recycling bins at least once every week.
How to use local recycling centres
You can recycle paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, food tins, drink cans, aerosols, foil, plastics and now for the first time food and drink containers (e.g. Tetra Pak) at most local recycling centres.
There are a lot of centres with recycling bins for
textiles, clothes and shoes and WEEE Banks.
You can also recycle your food and drink cartons, like Tetra Paks, at Sainsbury's, Dog Kennel Hill, Surrey Quays shopping centre over-flow car park off Deal Porters Way and at the household waste reuse and recycling centre.
Useful recycling tips
- Allow space for everyone to recycle by squashing your cardboard boxes, drink cans and plastic bottles
- Do not leave any recycling on top or beside the recycling bins, as it makes the area look untidy and it may not be collected for recycling
- If you use a bag to carry your recycling in, please empty the materials into the recycling bin and take the bag away with you
