Statement of accounts
The statement of accounts show and explain the council's financial position for a given year, bringing together expenditure and income on all of its services. They also include statements on the pension fund and other trust fund accounts.
The audit of the accounts for 2012/13 has now concluded and you can download a copy of the audited statement of accounts for 2012/13. You can also view the audited statement of accounts for earlier years through this link.
We are required to prepare an annual governance statement (AGS) to accompany the statement of accounts. This is published on the annual governance statement page.
Below is the formal notice of conclusion of the audit, which sets out your rights to inspect the accounts.

Notice is given that the audit of the council’s annual accounts has been concluded for the years ended 31 March 2013. If you are a local government elector for Southwark council, you have the right to:
(a) Inspect and make copies of the statement of accounts
(b) Inspect and make copies of the report made to the council by the auditor
(c) Require copies of the statement or report to be delivered to you on payment of a reasonable sum for each copy
The documents are available for inspection by appointment at the address for visitors, given below, between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm on Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). If you wish to make an appointment to inspect or request copies of the accounts or reports please write to the contact at the address for correspondence given below.

Inspection of accounts 2013/14
The accounts for 2013/14, which are subject to audit, will be available for inspection from 11 July 2014. Members of the public, and local government electors, have certain rights in the audit process and these are detailed in the statutory notice of inspection of accounts for year ended 31 March 2014.
