Vision for adult social care in Southwark
We have developed a vision for the future of adult social care. We are now looking to turn the vision into a reality in Southwark over the next few years.
We want people to live independent and fulfilling lives, based on choices that are important to them. We want care and support services to be more effective and focused on individuals so that they can be independent and get involved in their local community. We are starting to find more innovative ways of helping our residents to support themselves with fewer formal council services.
The vision was presented to the council cabinet on 19 April. The cabinet approved the vision. Please read the full vision for adult social care in Southwark for more information.
We spoke to a number of groups involved with adult social care about what they thought of the vision and what else it needed to say. The final version has taken the feedback we received into account.
