Skills and training
If you've been out of work for a while, or if you'd like to brush up on your skills, we're here to help you. Developing your skills can help you stand out when you're applying for a job, help you get a different job, and improve your confidence at home and at work.
Skills for life
If you need help with your reading, writing or maths skills, the adult learning service can help you find a Skills for Life training course. They're designed to help you develop the skills in everyday life, and are ideal if you don't have any recent qualifications, such as GCSE's. If English isn't your main language, there are also courses in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Adult learners
If you're considering a change of career, or are interested in retraining, the adult learning service can help you find a training course in your area. As well as learning new skills, it can be a chance to meet new people and have fun. Working towards a qualification can give your CV the boost it needs, and it will also show employers that you're able to manage your time, solve problems, and have good people skills.
