Social networking

More and more people are interacting with the council online, through e-mail, discussion forums and surveys. We are now actively promoting messages to our residents using e-newsletters and social networking sites such as youtube, facebook and flickr.

Have a look at what we've done so far and get involved.

Facebook

In early 2009 we ran a very successful campaign to encourage people to back the Burgess Park bid. More than 1,150 signed up to the Facebook group and we won the Mayor's £2 million.

We have since set up a Burgess Park fan page to replace the group and will use it to keep people updated over the coming months and years.

You can also become a fan of the London Borough of Southwark, for updates on news, consultations and announcements, or become a fan of What's on in Southwark to be kept up to date with the borough's biggest events.

Twitter

Keep up to date with the council's twitterings on news and events by following lb_southwark.

Flickr

Photos of the latest events and campaigns can be seen on the council's flickr page. This will be built up over time and photos will be added to a map of Southwark allowing you to see what's been going on in your area.

YouTube

We will increasingly be using video content to promote our campaign messages through our YouTube channel. The channel currently shows a video of the council leader Nick Stanton sharing his vision for Southwark, and a video made in support of the Back the Burgess Park bid.

E-newsletter

The monthly e-newsletter features events, news and consultations from the borough. Sign up now!
