Several Southwark secondary schools will take part, including a specially-commissioned reflection in dance on Friedrich Niemöller's famous poem, "First They Came", by students of Notre Dame R.C. Girls' Secondary School, St George's Road.
Refreshments will be served from 10am and the main programme begins at 10.30am in the Museum Cinema. It will include the showing of a short film, Learning the Lessons of the Past, narrated by Imelda Staunton OBE.
Afterwards, participants will process outside for an Act of Remembrance at the Soviet War Memorial and Southwark Council's Holocaust Memorial Tree, located in the adjacent Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park. The ceremony will include the laying of wreaths at the memorial and the tree.
The event will be hosted by the Worshipful Mayor of Southwark, Councillor Lorraine Lauder MBE.
