Description

Learning of his father’s death, Prince Hamlet comes home to find his uncle married to his mother and installed on the Danish throne. At night, the ghost of the old king demands that Hamlet avenge his ‘foul and most unnatural murder.’ 'Playing alongside Hamlet will be As You Like It. Both written around 1599, the year the original Globe was built, these plays speak to each other in surprising and exciting ways. An ensemble of artists will explore these well-thumbed and popular plays in parallel, as if for the first time, and will put the story and the storyteller at the heart of this exploration.’ Michelle Terry, Artistic Director Discover these sibling plays with our specially programmed two-show days, when the ensemble will perform both consecutively.
