DescriptionDuring the interwar period, Bermondsey Metropolitan Borough Council sought to improve and maintain the living and working standards of the residents of Bermondsey and make it a place they could be proud of. One of the ways they did this was by making public information films which were a successful means to spread the message of health and civic pride. Southwark Local History Library and Archive in association with Sands Film Studios invites you to a screening of four films made by Bermondsey borough Council including the film 'Oppin, made in 1930, which will see its first cinematic viewing in over 80 years at Sands Films Studios fantastic cinema.
