DescriptionWith the last flickers of Lumiere London fading, we invite you to a second round of light installations: Elephant Glow! Come down to Elephant & Castle to see a set of fun, interactive and thrilling light installations to celebrate the area’s past, present and future. Your physical presence will activate the installations, giving you the chance to manipulate both the ambient light and colour of your surroundings. Perhaps surprise your Valentine by enveloping them in a rose red mist. Brought to you by a team of interaction designers, alumni of the London College of Communication, Lendlease is proud to host this in Elephant Park, central London’s new green heart. There will be three installations: MANY HANDS This interaction illustrates the common phrase “Many hands make light work”. The projected image is revealed as more and more members of the Elephant & Castle community stand together side by side. PROXIMITY GLOW As the visitors get closer to different segments of this installation, parts of plants and trees start to glow brighter, pulling you in to add to the ambient beauty of Elephant Park and its surroundings. FIBRE GRASS This installation allows the visitors to feel in control of Elephant Park, by sending a tweet with #elephantglow and requesting a colour, you can decide which colour to light the grass beneath. How to find us This newly open green space, situated between Walworth road and Old Kent road, is conveniently located next to Lost Rivers and the Artworks hub, where you can grab a drink or bite to eat after your visit. Head for the railway station exit on Elephant Road behind the shopping centre, and look for the Pink Elephant across the Square.
