Description

This month’s film explores the history of Islam in Southwark and the issues that affect Southwark’s various communities. The DVD is usefully divided into five individual films – the introduction, the context, explanation of the Islamic religion with useful explanatory captions, the history of Islam within the borough of Southwark and the role of the mosque and its uses within the community. The film seeks to inform and educate the viewer about the Islamic faith and its places of worship. It features all of the well-known and established Southwark mosques and includes interviews with imams, vicars, political and local government figures as well as the residents who use and live near them. A Community TV Trust Production.
