Public sector equality duty

Sex

The Equality Act 2010 prohibits discrimination against a person on the basis of their Sex. This section in the Equality Act 2010 explains that references in the Act to people having the protected characteristic of sex are to mean being a man or a woman, and that men share this characteristic with other men, and women with other women.

We are committed to promoting equality amongst men and women and valuing the contribution made by all citizens.
