More cash for your community

Generally, the money goes to community groups, but if a group of like minded residents have a plan, they're free to apply for community fund grants of between £100 and £1000.

The money is granted to community projects ranging from cultural celebrations to providing equipment for local sports teams.Community councils encourage involvement from residents in council decision making and cover all sorts of issues, from safety to planning.

The fund is vital to smaller projects, which nonetheless make a world of difference to local people taking part in them.
