Community Councils

Community councils are part of the council's decision making process and are a focal point for discussion on local matters. Local Councillors elected to represent the area sit on the community councils and take decisions relating to key areas such as

• Traffic management
• Community safety
• Planning applications
• Environmental improvements
• Appointment of primary school governors.

Community council meetings are also a forum for consultation with local people and provide an opportunity for residents to influence how council services are delivered.
