Community Councils are part of the Council's decision making process and are a focal point for discussion on local matters. Local Councillors elected to represent the area sit on the community councils and take decisions relating to key areas such as
traffic management
community safety
planning applications
environmental improvements
appointment of primary school governors.
Community Council meetings are also a forum for consultation with local people and provide an opportunity for residents to influence how council services are delivered. It gives the decision making back to the citizens who decide which neighbourhood changes will be made through the Cleaner greener safer scheme.
