Children's services inspections
This page provides information on major inspections that Southwark Children’s Services will be subject to over the next few years. It also includes information on previous inspections.
If you work with children in early help, children in need of help and protection, looked after children and care leavers, you could be involved at various levels during an inspection. The inspector’s main focus will be to spend time talking to and shadowing social workers about the work they do with children and young people. However, you may still be required to meet with an inspector, provide information or support the administration process of the inspection.
The information here is provided for all staff in Children’s Services to be ready for these inspections.
The inspections include:
- Single Inspection Framework (SIF)
- Joint Targeted Area Inspections (JTAI)
- Ofsted Targeted Local Authority Inspections (STAI)
- Local area SEND Inspection Framework (SEND)
We are going to be inspected! - Top tips for staff (pdf, 281kb)
Southwark’s SIF inspection took place between 6 March and 30 March 2017 and the report was published on 13 June 2017. Children’s Services in Southwark were judged by Ofsted to be Good overall.
