Housing associations

Service outline

Housing associations, also known as registered social landlords, build and manage homes on a not for profit basis. Many housing associations are charities. There are more than 40 housing associations in Southwark, owning and managing over 10,000 properties.

Some housing associations have a special role such as providing homes for people with special support needs or those from particular ethnic backgrounds. As well as building and renovating homes, they are involved in a variety of training, employment and community development programmes.
