Energy efficiency
Service outline
Climate change is one of the most serious challenges we face. The main cause of climate change is the rise in levels of CO2 in our atmosphere. CO2 is produced whenever we burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) - whether this is to heat our homes, run our cars or generate electricity in power stations.
The council has set itself a target to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the borough by 80 per cent of current levels by 2050.
You can help us to reach this target by improving your own energy efficiency. Have a look at our Energy Efficiency pages for some simple tips to switch off, save energy and save money by reducing your energy bills.
