Freedom pass

Service outline

A Freedom Pass is available for disabled and older people living in Southwark. To apply for an Older Persons Freedom Pass please go to your local Post Office and complete an application form. For a Disabled Persons Freedom Pass please contact Southwark Council's Blue Badge and freedom Pass support team on 020 7252 2141/2306.

 

It is paid for by Southwark Council and entitles the holder to free travel on all Transport for London (TfL) buses, tubes, trains, Docklands Light Railway and trams in London at any time and after 9.30am on most National Rail services within the London area. 

The National Disabled Persons Freedom Pass and the Older Persons Freedom pass may also be used to travel on local bus services in the rest of England under the terms of the Concessionary Bus Travel Act 2007.
