Street for People Schemes

Street light on Marsden RoadWe are currently working with two local communities in Southwark on an urban design project called streets for people. The council is working in partnership with consultants Mouchel Group and the project is sponsored by Transport for London.

Streets for people

  • Aim to improve the quality of the streetscape
  • Enhance local distinctiveness and vitality
  • Create a safer street environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and the mobility impaired

    The two project areas are Salisbury Row in Walworth SE17 and Alscot Road in Bermondsey SE16.
