Vehicle RemovalsYour vehicle may be removed by the council if you park it illegally, particularly if it is causing an obstruction. Under these circumstances your vehicle may have been taken to another street or to the car pound.
How can I find out if my vehicle has been removed by the council?
Please phone the TRACE service on 020 7747 4747. They will be able to tell you if your vehicle has been removed and taken to the car pound or relocated to another street within the borough.
How can I reclaim my vehicle?
Your vehicle can be collected from Southwark car pound once you have produced valid identification and paid the charges. These can be paid at the car pound by either cash, debit or credit card or cheque accompanied by a cheque guarantee card. The charges are
- Vehicle removal charge of £200
- Penalty Charge Notice (parking ticket) at the discounted rate if paid within 14 days £40 or £60
- Vehicle storage charge, only if your vehicle is not collected within 24 hours, £40 per day
Remember to bring
- Vehicle registration document or log book
- Two proofs of residency that show your name and address (eg. utility bill, driving licence)
