Using TexBox
- Do you have a hearing impairment that makes it difficult to use a telephone?
- Do you have a textphone or minicom in your home?
- Have you tried to contact Southwark Council using your textphone or minicom?
- Was the call unsuccessful?
If your answer to any of these questions was yes, you will want to know about TexBox, the new service from Southwark Council’s one stop shops.
This has already made life easier for many people who use textphones and minicoms. It gives users a single number, 020 7525 3559, to contact the council.
Dial 020 7525 3559 on your textphone or minicom and your call will go directly to a one stop shop officer who can deal with your enquiry. If you need specialist help, such as housing repairs or social services, your call will be immediately passed through to a customer service officer in our housing repairs call centre or to a duty officer in the disabilities unit.
If you already use the service and have any comments, please let us know on 020 7525 3559.
If you would rather see someone face to face, both one stop shops are fitted with induction loops and have highly trained staff to help with your enquiries in person.
