Core Strategy
The Core Strategy will set out the vision for future development in the borough and identify broad locations for new development such as housing, shops, and offices. The Core Strategy is due to be adopted in 2011. In the meantime, the policies in the Southwark Plan (2007) are up to date and consistent with government guidance and the London Plan.
Consultation on the Core Strategy: Issues and Options Report
The first stage in the preparation of the Core Strategy is the Issues and Options Report which identifies the issues to be included in the Core Strategy such as affordable housing and protection of industrial land, and the options for dealing with these issues. Public consultation on the Issues and Options will take place for six weeks from Monday November 3 to Monday December 15 2008.
You can download the issues and options paper below
There are also background documents available below which provide more information on community consultation and the impacts of the policies.
