Planning Applications Important changes
To streamline the planning system and make it easier for applicants the Government has created a national standard planning application form known as 1APP.
The use of the standard form will be mandatory from April 6 2008.
There will be a short transitional period but we will not be able to accept paper applications submitted on existing old style forms after May 5 2008.
Applications submitted online via the Planning Portal are already using the new style forms. Combined forms are provided if you need to apply for two types of consent, e.g. planning permission and listed building consent, for your proposed development. If you use one of these forms you will only need to complete one form but it will be treated as two applications and you will be given a unique reference number for each application.
Also from April 6 2008 applications will need to comply with new national planning application requirements and the council’s own published local planning application requirements.
Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted as valid and we will not be able to begin considering your application.
