Introducing Webmaps

Southwark Council's interactive mapping service is called Webmaps. It is free and can be used by anyone online.

What you can do with webmaps

Webmaps is an interactive mapping resource where you can

  • Print a map
  • Search for an address and see it located on a map
  • View your nearest services such as recycling sites or schools based on a postcode or neighbourhood
  • Zoom in, zoom out and pan around Ordnance Survey mapping
  • View detailed information on places such as a conservation area name or library address
  • Quick jump to a map of your local neighbourhood
  • View points of interest and locate them on a map
  • Access a webmaps user guide to assist with using webmaps

What can be viewed on webmaps

Webmaps displays information about services, groups of places and their locations, these are known as map layers.

They include

  • Community council boundaries
  • 24 hour access public toilets
  • Public toilets
  • GP surgeries
  • Car parks
  • Cycle parking facilities
  • Conservation areas
  • Archaeological Priority Zones (APZ)
  • Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ)
  • Libraries
  • Recycling sites
  • Schools and colleges
  • Southwark office locations
  • Ward boundaries and ward councillor information
  • London boroughs

Each map layer pinpoints features, such as libraries or recycling sites on Ordnance Survey mapping. For example, libraries are represented by grey library building symbols.

However, webmaps doesn't just locate a library on a map. By clicking on a library icon with the information selection tool, it can provide information such as the library name, address, phone number and email address.
