Bulky CollectionsSouthwark residents can have bulky waste such as old furniture, fridges and other large household items collected free of charge. However if you have a small bulky item, please put this into your bin. If the item cannot fit into your bin, please place it into a suitable waste bag, which must be securely tied and presented neatly beside your bin. This item will then be collected along with your normal refuse where an appointment is not required.
Each resident is allowed to have a maximum of 15 items collected per collection and one collection per month. Each item must be listed when making the booking, as collectors will only pick up what is on the list. For example two wardrobes, one double bed base, one mattress = four items.
To arrange an appointment for collection please contact us on 020 7525 2000 or request a bulky collection appointment online.
It is illegal to dump bulky items or any other rubbish on public land. Report dumped bulky items online now to ensure it's cleared and investigated quickly.
Once your collection day has been arranged, please put your bulky items in a place where the collectors will be able to find them and access them easily. You must keep your bulky items within the boundary of your property before your collection day. If you put them on the footpath or road before your collection day you could be prosecuted for flytipping. Find out more about flytipping.
