Recycling in Private Flats
If you live in a flat on a private estate or in a private apartment block we can install recycling bins on site for use by all residents. We try to place the bins in a convenient location for all residents, for instance in your refuse bin store.
We have been working with developers and managing agents to ensure that as many private estates and apartment blocks as possible have communal recycling facilities.
You can recycle the following materials for us to collect.
We provide a set of three bins, which we offer in various sizes:
If you don't have any recycling bins on your estate or block, or if you need more recycling bins, please contact us (see below). One of our recycling support officers can visit your estate and work with your managing agent to try and install recycling bins.
We also have a service specifically for residents living in flats above shops.
Other ways to recycle
- If you live on an estate, or if we can't install recycling bins at your property (due to spatial or collection restrictions), your property may be covered by the clear bag recycling service.
- If you live in a street based property with a wheelie bin for your refuse, we should be able to collect your recycling from the kerbside. Find out more about our blue box and bag recycling service.
- We also have about 550 local recycling centres located across the borough.
