Inkjet and toner cartridges
Environmental Business Products Ltd. support a wide range of charities by recycling your used inkjet cartridges. Call 0800 435576 for your FREEPOST envelope. They are also able to recycle used toner cartridges.
Check if your stockist offers a refill service.
There is also a recycling bank for printer and toner cartridges at the household waste reuse and recycling centre located at Manor Place Depot.
Lightbulbs

Mobile phones
Cellular Surplus recycle old phones to support a range of charities. Call 0800 9705 097 to request a FREEPOST envelope.
Alternatively you can return phones to any retailer for recycling, or take them to CRISP, who will also accept phone chargers

Plastic bags, polythene and mail wrappers
This includes both printed and unprinted polythene wrappers and bags. Things like vegetable bags, supermarket bags, mailing wrappers, bread bags, multipack wrappers and six pack rings.
Please note that polythene marked as 'degradable' cannot be recycled. It is very important that it doesn't get mixed up with ordinary polythene. All polythene items must be free of paper, food, sticky tape etc before they can be recycled.
Many major supermarket stores have Bag Banks in their car parks where you can recycle plastic bags.

Stamps
You can send used postage stamps FREEPOST back to the Post Office to be distributed to reputable, registered charities. Please don't peel the used stamps off the envelopes. Instead, tear around the stamps, leaving the post mark intact and send the stamps to:

Take to Dolland and Aitchison or ask your optician if they accept spectacles for recycling.

Textiles
Clothes and shoes can be reused and recycled by taking them to local charity shops or putting them (in a plastic bag) into a textiles recycling bank. There are over 20 textiles recycling bins (Word 33kb) across the borough.
Toner cartridges

Tools and sewing machines
Charitable organisations such as Workaid and Tools for Self-Reliance collect and refurbish tools for developing countries in Africa. Contact Workaid on 01494 765 506 or Tools for Self Reliance on 02380 869 697 for more information.
Tools can also be left at the reuse and recycle centre at Manor Place Depot for other visitors to reuse.
Water filters - Brita
The filters from water jugs that need replacing every month no longer need to be thrown away. Reusable parts are reconditioned and all the other components are recycled by Brita. Please send your filters in batches of six FREEPOST to
