Flag The Poo

Look out for the orange flags among the grass! 'Flag the Poo' is here and it's all about shocking dog owners into cleaning up after their dogs.

The first 'Flag the Poo' event took place in Dulwich park. We flagged up 68 examples of dog mess in a small patch of grass.

We will be running one 'Flag the Poo' event in each community council area. If you would like to suggest and area for a 'Flag the Poo' event email environment@southwark.gov.uk.

We have already had flag the poo events at

  • Dulwich Park
  • Southwark Park
  • Brunswick Park
  • Pasley Park
  • Peckham Rye Park
  • Goldsmith estate
  • Charles Dickens estate
  • Nelson Square Estate

The RSPCA has teamed up with the counil and are offering free pet micrichipping, which normally costs £30, to anyone bringing their pet along to our flag the poo events. So far they have microchipped over 500 pets, mainly dogs and we have given out over 20,000 poop scoop bags.

We have upcoming events at the following dates and locations. All events start at 12pm and finish at 4pm.

  • September, 22 Bird in Bush Park
  • Ocotber 13, Elmington Estate

If you would like to hold and lead a Flag the Poo event in your local area please contact us on the number below.

We are also asking all Southwark residents, not just dog owners, to sign our anti dog fouling pledge. Pledge your support here.

For information on how to obtain free poop scoop bags, please call Southwark Council on 020 7525 2000.
