Gypsy, Roma and Traveller EducationOur traveller education support service works with parents and carers from Gypsy, Roma, Traveller (GRT), fairground and circus communities, to improve access and inclusion for their children in mainstream education.
Term time support
- Educational continuity for young people entering a new phase of education such as early years, primary, secondary and post 16 and those entering mid school year
- Family advocacy and liaison between families and schools
- Help with form filling and financial support for access and inclusion in educational activities
- Data monitoring, school enrolment, attendance and achievement
How we work
We visit official and unofficial sites as well as Gypsy, Roma and Traveller homes. We work in partnership with many statutory and non-statutory services to get the best education for GRT children in the borough.
